Welcome
Dear Colleagues,
The 2008 Annual Conference for the Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM) will be held in Dallas, Texas from Sunday, September 21 through Wednesday, September 24 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. With the help of a dedicated and hard working 2008 Annual Conference Committee, we have created a program that is targeted towards individuals in the discipline of Clinical Data Management at various levels of experience.
The conference will kick off on Monday with a keynote presentation by David Cottrell; President and CEO of CornerStone Leadership Institute, a multi-million dollar organization as well as one of the most recognized and profitable companies in the training and business publishing industry. Mr. Cottrell is an authority on leadership. As an internationally known author and speaker on the topic of leadership, he has been featured on public television and in numerous publications. Prior to founding CornerStone, Mr. Cottrell's business experience included senior management positions with Xerox and FedEx. David's years of professional experience are reflected in more than 20 highly acclaimed books, including Listen Up, Leader; The Next Level; Leadership Courage, Monday Morning Mentoring and the best seller Monday Morning Leadership.
There will be two tutorials offered at the Annual Conference: the first offered on Saturday, September 20th, is a half-day session about the Clinical Data Acquisition Standards Harmonization (CDASH). Our second tutorial is scheduled for a full day on Sunday, September 21st, and focuses on Data Management Plans and will include information about the new Data Management Plans chapter of the Good Clinical Data Management Practices.
Our exhibit hall will again be located in one room and the conference schedule will provide attendees dedicated time to meet with all of our vendors.
The 2008 Annual Conference will conclude at noon on Wednesday, September 24, 2008.
Please join us in Dallas for the SCDM 14th Annual Conference. We look forward to meeting you and learning about your vision of Clinical Data Management in the future.
Sincerely,
Ralph Russo, Derek Perrin, CCDM, and Brenda Hoeper, CCDM
