SCDM India Third Single-Day Event – Mumbai

The final one-day event for SCDM India in 2017 was attended by over 80 attendees from various parts of India and different type of organizations. The theme of this event was “Changing Landscape of Clinical Data Management & Outsourcing: Evolution of Data Scientists and impact of Big Data & RBM”. The first key note address was provided by Jonathan Andrus, COO of Clinical Ink. He elucidated his thoughts about current state of data management and what can be expected in the clinical data domain in the near future – 2020 and how to navigate the complexities of the clinical data world. The second key note was delivered by Hemant Rehani, Global Head of Life Sciences Digital Operations Delivery at Cognizant. He shared insights into how Clinical Data Management operations & application of data intelligence and automation has impacted outsourcing.

 

The event at Mumbai was one-of-a-kind collaborative exercise in the industry. An industry and academic workshops were conducted by experienced representatives cutting across different organizations – TCS, Algorics, IQVIA, Cognizant and Accenture. The industry workshop was moderated by Abby Abraham, Co-founder & Vice President, Algorics and focused on what is expected of data managers to execute RBM successfully. Aspects related to process, people and technology in the RBM execution continuum. The relevance of central data monitoring and risk planning in data management operations was discussed with the objective of explaining concepts of RBM and what managers need to be aware of and execute in the new normal. The academic workshop was moderated by Deven Babre, AVP and SME for Data management at TCS. The track focused on importance of terminology management and platform used in medical coding across clinical data management and Pharmacovigilance. The workshops were followed by an interesting white paper presentation by Dr. Jasmin Johnson, AVP – Operations, TCS. She detailed various illustrations of how technology is being used in adjacent domains in healthcare industry and the relevance for data managers to adapt to the new changes.

 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all the stakeholders who worked towards making the event successful.
