SCDM’s  2018 2nd Single Day Event (Bengaluru) Program

We are currently seeking the submission of Whitepapers. The closing date for the submission of abstracts is 11 May 2018.  The results from submitted abstracts will be announced shortly following this closing date. The subject matter of these whitepapers will consider the following topic :

Keynote Speaker : Suresh Ramu

Ramu is a co-founder and CEO of CyteCare Hospitals, a comprehensive cancer care hospital network. The first cancer 150-bed organ-site focussed cancer hospital that went live November 2016 on Airport Road, Yelahanka, Bangalore.

* He is also a Co-founder of Cytespace, a clinical research organization. Earlier, Ramu was with Quintiles for about 10 years in various global business roles. Prior to joining Quintiles in 2001, Ramu was a consultant for a PricewaterhouseCoopers. He was also an early team member for a startup telemedicine company in India.

* Ramu has a bachelor’s engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

* Ramu is passionate about excellence in healthcare and research.

Keynote Speaker : Bhawana S. Awasthy

Dr. Awasthy is an Oncologist with over 20 years of combined clinical-practice and clinical-research experience. Her responsibilities have included developing, designing and conducting Oncology clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry and for academic institutions; both within academia and in a CRO environment. She has held leadership positions in the industry, organizing and managing both Oncology research and global drug development. Among other things, this has included the planning of Oncology biomarker research capabilities for a network of Oncology hospitals in India, developing and mentoring research physician teams in APAC. Her responsibilities have included Oncologist group engagement activities at an international level, development of research committees and ethics committee systems and processes, following the requirements of the US FDA in an Indian setting.

 

Dr. Awasthy’s experience in Oncology has involved designing, writing and implementing Phase I to Phase IV studies at a global level. She has also monitored neuroscience bioavailability/bioequivalence studies and contributed to development of their protocols. Dr. Awasthy has published in peer review journals and has made multiple presentations at national and international Oncology conferences. She has served as visiting faculty member, teaching courses in clinical research in India.

 

Her clinical experience has been focused in the clinical management of solid tumors. Her interests and current clinical practice is mainly in breast, ovarian and colorectal malignancies.

 

She has been actively involved in spreading awareness in NCR on breast cancer through the NGO- Forum for Breast Cancer Protection- to various groups including schools, colleges, corporates, and general public.

 

Dr Awasthy is currently Vice President, Clinical Solutions in the Medical Management and Scientific Services Department of Syneos Health.

Keynote Speaker : Abby Abraham

Abby Abraham is the Vice President of Data Analytics and Risk-Based Monitoring at OmniComm Systems, Inc. Prior to joining OmniComm, he was the co-founder of Algorics and was responsible for ideation and design of Acuity, a best in class global analytics and RBM enablement platform for clinical research. He is also the primary author of a patent that is pending approval at the US Patent & Trademark office. Given the potential of analytics and RBM in the industry, OmniComm, one of the top global eClinical solutions organizations acquired Acuity and the team in January 2018, marking the successful end of his business venture and the start of his next journey.

Abby’s enthusiasm for applying data analytics to solve operational and scientific challenges in clinical research is unparalleled. In his role at OmniComm, Abby is responsible for development strategy as well as operational delivery of Acuity. He is also responsible for scientific engagement and partnership with like-minded organizations through application of analytics and adoption of risk based approaches to monitoring to enable ICH-E6(R2) compliance.

He actively participates in the industry through chairing, moderating and presenting scientific sessions during forums such as SCDM, DIA and Partnerships in Clinical Trials. He has authored articles in reputed scientific publications as well as articulated his perspectives in several RBM white papers.

Abby is a pharmacologist. He completed his bachelor of Pharmacy from Annamalai University and Masters at BITS, Pilani. He has also pursued training in Healthcare management and has over 19 years of experience in the clinical research industry. He has served senior leadership roles in global CROs prior to co-founding Algorics.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER : Hemant Rehani

Hemant Rehani is currently the Global Head of Life Sciences Digital Operations Delivery at Cognizant. He leads a global team of 4500+ Life Sciences practitioners based in 20 cities across the world He is responsible for delivering business value and digital transformation for global Life Sciences companies through effective use of people, process and digital technology.

Hemant comes with an experience of 25 years in Technology and Business Process Services across many industry verticals, having worked with LRN, Quintiles, IBM and many young companies in his career. He made a successful switch from a Technology career and has been in Life Sciences sector now for 6 years. His experience at Quintiles included heading the Clinical Development Services for India and South Asia, and setting up the Clinical Global Delivery Network. Prior to Cognizant, he was Managing Director India at LRN, a Culture Transformation organization with a mission to help people “Do the Right Things”.

Hemant has lived and worked in 10 different cities in US and India. Hemant has an interesting mix of career having played roles of a CTO, CIO, COO, MD and as an Angel Investor & Mentor for startups. He is an Electrical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering and an MBA from Ross School of Business at University of Michigan.
