Keynote Speaker : Shankar Arun
As Vice President and Member Board, Shankar Arun leads Covance’s FSP Business Units in India which specialize in the areas of Clinical Data Management, eClinical Services, Biostatistics and Analytics. With more than two decades of experience largely devoted to the CRO/IT/KPO functional carve-outs within the Life Sciences segment, Shankar brings in rich expertise developing solutions around EDC, CTMS, IVRS and Safety Platforms. In his current role with Covance, Shankar has reshaped the FSP and the stand-alone services for large MNC Pharma clients in Covance’s India offices in Bangalore and Mumbai. Before joining the Life Sciences Industry, he worked as a consultant in the US for some of the prestigious names like Microsoft (Seattle) and Apple (Cupertino).
A Technology Evangelist, Shankar specializes in designing solutions within the Clinical Research space aroundthe frameworks of “SMAC” (Social Media, Mobility, Analytics and Cloud) and is an active proponent of “Go Digital” models. He also leads Covance’s Innovation Initiative which conducts research on the application of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation in the field of Clinical Development.
Shankar is an active participant in external forums like Cypher Analytics Summit, India Analytics Summit, SCDM, DIA etc where he has presented keynote speeches on topics related to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and IOT. A strong believer in people power, Shankar is focused on mentoring and coaching his teams to maximize their full potential.
Keynote Speaker : Abby Abraham
Abby Abraham is the Vice President of Data Analytics and Risk-Based Monitoring at OmniComm Systems, Inc. Prior to joining OmniComm, he was the co-founder of Algorics and was responsible for ideation and design of Acuity, a best in class global analytics and RBM enablement platform for clinical research. He is also the primary author of a patent that is pending approval at the US Patent & Trademark office. Given the potential of analytics and RBM in the industry, OmniComm, one of the top global eClinical solutions organizations acquired Acuity and the team in January 2018, marking the successful end of his business venture and the start of his next journey.
Abby’s enthusiasm for applying data analytics to solve operational and scientific challenges in clinical research is unparalleled. In his role at OmniComm, Abby is responsible for development strategy as well as operational delivery of Acuity. He is also responsible for scientific engagement and partnership with like-minded organizations through application of analytics and adoption of risk based approaches to monitoring to enable ICH-E6(R2) compliance.
He actively participates in the industry through chairing, moderating and presenting scientific sessions during forums such as SCDM, DIA and Partnerships in Clinical Trials. He has authored articles in reputed scientific publications as well as articulated his perspectives in several RBM white papers.
Abby is a pharmacologist. He completed his bachelor of Pharmacy from Annamalai University and Masters at BITS, Pilani. He has also pursued training in Healthcare management and has over 19 years of experience in the clinical research industry. He has served senior leadership roles in global CROs prior to co-founding Algorics.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER : Hemant Rehani
Hemant Rehani is currently the Global Head of Life Sciences Digital Operations Delivery at Cognizant. He leads a global team of 4500+ Life Sciences practitioners based in 20 cities across the world He is responsible for delivering business value and digital transformation for global Life Sciences companies through effective use of people, process and digital technology.
Hemant comes with an experience of 25 years in Technology and Business Process Services across many industry verticals, having worked with LRN, Quintiles, IBM and many young companies in his career. He made a successful switch from a Technology career and has been in Life Sciences sector now for 6 years. His experience at Quintiles included heading the Clinical Development Services for India and South Asia, and setting up the Clinical Global Delivery Network. Prior to Cognizant, he was Managing Director India at LRN, a Culture Transformation organization with a mission to help people “Do the Right Things”.
Hemant has lived and worked in 10 different cities in US and India. Hemant has an interesting mix of career having played roles of a CTO, CIO, COO, MD and as an Angel Investor & Mentor for startups. He is an Electrical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering and an MBA from Ross School of Business at University of Michigan.
