Updates from the Board – Data Connections May 2017

In News

Dear Readers,

It’s hard to believe it’s already May with summer around the corner… The 2017 SCDM Annual Conference will be here before you know it! The Annual Conference committee has closed the call for abstracts and they are working hard to select great speakers and hot topics to bring you an exciting, informative program. Also don’t forget about an attendee favorite: the Technology Innovation Award. The latest cutting edge ideas are on display in this competitive contest. Mark your calendar for Orlando September 24-27 and register now.

Join your colleagues in volunteer opportunities – share your expertise, learn from others, and meet new people who share a passion for data! Have you had a chance to check out the volunteer opportunities on the website? Currently there is a call for volunteers for the revision of the CCDM exam – please let us know if you are interested in sharing your knowledge and insights at info@scdm.org.

Another volunteer opportunity is on our Clinical Data Innovations Committee. The innovation team is working on a metrics and analytics initiative. We are also sponsoring a round table discussion at the 2017 Annual Conference on ‘Standards as a Key Enabler to Accelerate Innovation’. If you would like to be part of this vibrant team, please reach out to me. We are always looking to grow our committee and generate new and innovative ideas for our members.

Keep an eye on the website for our online courses and webinars. You can sign up for the Metrics and Identifying Data Trends course starting May 22 and a webinar on Observational Studies on June 7.

As a reminder, if you are looking for well qualified individuals to join your company data management team, please consider advertising your job posting on the SCDM website. It’s a great place to find folks with data management acumen.
We look forward to serving your SCDM member needs through conferences, education, thought leadership and networking opportunities. Please provide us feedback on how we are doing – we’d love to hear from you.

Kindest regards,
Linda King
SCDM Board of Trustees
